My wife and I just picked up our 2001 Solara on Saturday. It's one sweet ride. :D
His name is Sunny and he's a 2001 blue SLE V6 automatic with a moonroof. 8)

Mods

Postby SunnySolara » Mon Jan 19, 2004 1:57 pm

No, we won't be doing any mods. It's only got 27000 miles on it and it came with the 100,000 mile 6 year extended warranty.
We have a 1989 and 1990, 4 cylinder Camry, so we find this car plenty fast for us. :fadein:

Hey! Welcome fellow Solara owner - Finally somebody from BC has found SolaraGuy - I am just in New West, so maybe we will run into each other -you will recognize me by my SolaraGuy.com decals (when I get them). See the For Sale section and get some if you so desire :) Mind me asking what you paid for yours?

New Solara

Postby Buford » Tue Apr 13, 2004 7:50 pm

I just picked up a 2002 SE V6 manual transmission Solara with 22k mi on it on March 31. There was a rumbling in third gear and took it in to have it looked at. I was told me I needed a new transmission. It's under warranty and certified, but now they have come back and said all they want to do is repair the trans... Have any of you heard of any problems with the manual trans? I've looked for service buletins and recalls and couldn't find anything but if I can't get them to replace the trans I'm going to unload this thing as soon as they repair it. In my eyes it will be a problem waiting to happen.
