Hows it going guys? I'm new here. I have a 99 Black SEV6 with an aftermarket sunroof, I'll have some pics of it up soon. I'm in college and because of the parking situation, my doors are getting the short end of the stick, one chick driving a camry even hit my back right fender above the tire  . It is automatic and I'm looking soon to either dumping lots o $ into it, or keeping it as a daily driver and fixing something else up. I live in Louisiana if you wanted to know that too. Catch all of you later.

Welcome to the forum!

I never had a nice car while I was in college, so parking and door dings was never an issue. But now that I've got a car I want to take care of I find myself choosing parking stalls quite carefully. Usually I park so far out in the lot that I don't have to worry about anyone parking next to me. But when I'm forced to park near other cars, I always park at a slight angle, next to a car as nice as mine (hopefully the owner will care as much about my car as he/she does about his), and, if possible, on another car's passenger side (certainly the driver side door will open, but there may not be a passenger).

Enjoy your Solara!

I sometimes debate whether or not I should park on the passenger side because sometimes the passenger is even more careless than the driver, especially if its a kid or someone who is not used to the door's dimensions, and the driver might be more careful since it is his/her car...but I would have to agree that the nicer the car you're next too, the better off you probably are on the driver side :D I've become so selective in picking parking spots that I feel increasingly materialistic

I know how you feel. My wife calls me even worse names when I spend about an hour in the parking lot looking for just the right spot.

I feel ya themAnwiththeBaM. My car has that hit in the left fender , front and rear bumpers too. Sometimes I think I should fix those, but I'll just wait til I graduate. The last one was two days ago. I came out ready to go home and I saw that huge scratch on my rear bumper. It looks like an old truck with those iron bumpers. anyways, welcome to the forum.
