Who would have thought?

Greetings solaraguys!

Well, I never wouldd have thought that I'd be sending a message to a BBS like this! I'm not the most computer savvy person there is, plus I've always felt a little intimidated by these bords...anyway, I think it's time to dip my big toe into the pool.

As a little background, I'll let you know about my car. It's a 2004 Toyota Camry Solara SE. It the first new car I've bought in my 44 year existance. I always thought that better value could be had with used cars. But when I saw a picture of the car in Motor Trend while I was waiting to get a root canal, I knew the times they were a-changin'! Who could have thought that a car could be so amazing! So, kind of like hopping into this website, I bought the car. I think I got a pretty good deal up in Memphis.

Anyhow, its Oceanus Pearl. The red one I saw in a picture looked pretty good, but I like this color better. You can see it on page 3 of the brochure. Pretty cool! The interior is the ivory. I always liked that color, as my Volvo is shaded thatway inside and out! Speaking of that car, I thought I would sell it once I got the Solara, but I just can't part with it--the things like a rock!

So thats about all I have to say for now. I'm gonna keep to watching what you guys are saying--but don't be surprised if you see my name in a post!!

See ya round,
Lars

Welcome to another experienced driver (I'm 40). Don't be intimidated by it, there's a ton of great info here. Additionaly, there are a lot of people to share experiences with and to learn from.

Do you plan on doing any modifications to your car? I bought my Solara new in 99 wih no plans to do any mods. I enjoyed driving the car so much, I didn't trade it in as usual. Instead, I started doing things 1 by 1 to further improve it.

The CarDomain page at the bottom of my post hosts free web pages that you can upload pictures to. -JoeB
