I purchased a 2000 Solara SE V6 with 26K in February 2003. I traded a 1997 Camry V6 XLE which I bought in 2000 with 36K. The Camry was very nice but I wanted something sportier yet still practical for a 40's something family guy. The Solara fits the bill for me nicely; moreover, the car accommodates my family of 4--wife and 2 pre-teen kids--with no problem. My Solara is fairway green--gold emblems--and a tan interior. I have since added a moonroof, wood dash kit, 16in. alum. wheels and tires. I love this car! I am at 38k and so far no problems. What repair issues are likely to occur and where's a good source for purchasing additional upgrades? :)

Grats on the Solara, it's a great car. Most people here have very few if any troubles with their cars. As far as upgrades, what kind of upgrades are you looking for? There is a for sale section on this board that has lots of good deals from fairly frequently on new and used parts. There are also a few web sites you can find probably by looking through the for sale section, depending on what kind of parts you're looking for. Also check the aftermarket upgrades section.
Please stop humping my car, owner privilege!

dash wood kit

Postby grmica » Fri Feb 20, 2004 6:14 am

Hey dan99solara

Thanks for the welcome! I purchased a 22 piece wood grain dash kit for the Solara from carXaccessories.com. I paid about $150 and the kit came UPS. It matches the stock wood trim in my 2000 SE perfectly. I installed it myself---very easy. I installed it about 8 months ago and have had :D no problems. Everyone who sees it thinks installed from factory by Toyota. Let me know if you have problems accessing the web site.

Hey family guy WELCOME! I got three kids. age 2.5, 1.3, & 4 months but use the sienna for moving them around. You said you got a moonroof installed? How much did it cost you? Everyone says its not a good idea to cut the roof but I beg to differ. I want one so bad but can't find a place to do it.
