I'm in the market for one of these wonderous cars, and have been lurking (and posting a little) here for a week or two. I fully expect to have one here before Christmas (if I can FIND one locally that I like). This seems like the place to get answers and general knowledge on these cars.

I'm in Arizona (Tucson). Lessee, what else. I'm a monster baseball nut (may George Steinbrenner rot in whatever level of hell he buys). I'm a big-time car guy, been building turbo DSMs for many, many moons, so I'm decent on general car knowledge, and am pretty good with turbo-related discussions (forced induction in general). And I work in car audio (no discounts, so don't ask :D ) so I'm usefull there.

Anyway, umm. Hi.

Welcome. Are you thinking about buying new or pre-owned?

It will defiantly be pre-owned, as my limit is around $12k or so. I'm seeing plenty of '99ish SLEs for that price, so that's what I'm shooting for. Like I said, just gotta find one locally now.

Heh. I thought FNG was a universal thing. Guess not. Consider yourselfs enlightened. :)

No 5 spd for me. I have a fast car already. I need something that won't put my foot to sleep in rush hour traffic. And I want the leather. And the sunroof. And, for some unknown reason, I really want heated seats. In Arizona.

Well, after a month and a half, I finally picked her up. A black 2000 Solara SLE, with ALL the fries. Alarm goes in this weekend, then the fun begins. She'll make a fine daily driver, I think. I'll post pics here in the next day or 2.
