:) I recently traded in a 1999 SLE - V6 for a 2004 SLE w/ Nav system and XM radio. So far it has completely met expectations. Only 2300 Mi since Oct. But will be taking a 3000 Mi. trip in a few days and should have a lot better idea by the end of the 1st week in January. Have to say I was also satisfied with the '99 but wanted to upgrade as the new model was released.

Welcome to the forum! Doesn't the new model have improvements in so many little things compared to Gen1? I moved up from a Gen1 SE so saw more changes than you.

Fergy,
Welcome to the forums! I'm curious about your XM radio. Did your car come with it, or did you have the dealer put it in after you bought it? Are you happy with XM. I was extremely close to buying the equipment necessary to get XM until I learned it was going to cost me almost $700.00. When you get a chance could you please post some pictures of what the display looks like when you're playing XM? Thanks!

Fotodad,
I and the salesman where I bought the SLE were both under the impression that the car would be delivered with XM radio installed. When I took delivery and got it home I called XM to set up the subscription and found out that XM was an additional option. Needless to say I was a little po'd to find this out after the fact. Just so happened that there was a Lexus dealer next door and they had already done a couple installations. The XM radio is built into the Nav system. Has 3 separate channels and reception and sound quality are great!!! I am a musician also and I have been very impressed with the quality of the programming and the variety with the system. If you have a Nav system there is an AM/Sat button on the system. Once you turn on the Satellite via the mode button on the steering wheel or the AM/Sat button, you can use any of 3 satellite stations or you can tune any of them you want to preseleceted stations. I don't have any pics of it yet. Matter of fact, today I just installed a wood dash kit I had ordered a couple weeks ago. Really adds to the appearance. I had done the same thing with the 99 I had and it really made a difference. I will be away from my pc here for a couple weeks beginning Sat 12/27. but can respond to any questions after I return on 1/12.
I hope I answered your questions here if not I'll be checking back until Saturday morning.
Best Regards,

Welcome to the group. Now, let's see some pictures of your new ride. And, maybe a pic of your old one if you still have any.
