I think, at least I hope, you're all able to finally take a look at my car. Trying to get pictures on this website has been frustrating for me. I hope that link works! I've done a lot of posting on this site, but not properly introduced myself. First of all, I'd like to thank a good many of you (Luc and Jaded... to name a couple) who have and continue to help me with Solara questions.

Anyways, I own a 2004 Lunar Mist (yes, yet another silver Solara) SLE. I struggled between the SE sport and the SLE for a while, but decided on the SLE becaause of its luxury items. I do plan to change the suspension when I get some extra cash, probably next summer. Trust me, when it comes to suspension changes, I'll be askin' you folks a ton of questions 'cause I am completely mechanically illiterate!

I've got about 1,500 miles on my car. I drive about 60 miles to and from work. I bought her in August. And I simply love this car! I've owned a lot of cars in my brief ( :D ) life: corvettes, camaros, Hondas, even a 2003 Nissan 350Z. But this car is FAR AND AWAY my favorite. I'll not bore you with personal details and experiences about the car. Heck, you own one! You know what I mean!

I have had a couple problems with the car, however. Strangely, the HomeLink was not installed on my car, a standard feature in an SLE!!! So the dealer is going to install it for me, plus he took another $300.00 off the price. Also, I'm getting an intermittent rattle/rubbing soundfrom the dash on the passenger side right where the wood panel and dash material meet. I think this is also where the air bag deploys from. So the dealer is going to check that out.

Regarding the pictures on the link:
I got a little carried away when I took pictures. Sorry. Some do repeat themselves. But I did want to take pictures of the clear bra. I'm pleased with how it turned out. But you be the judge. Also wanted to photograph my 20% tinting on the windows.

Enjoy!

Oops! One more thing. I took pictures of a "before, during, and after" stone chip I repaired. I applied the touch-up (that globby spot) then I used this stuff (can't remember what it's called, I'll post it later) to rub the excess paint off. I thought it did a decent job.

fotodad, as you feared, the link for the photos doesn't work. Please share the info about doing the touchup paint though. I have the same problem with the globby paint. Thanks! -JoeB

Sorry, everyone on this linking thing. That's one thing I definitely wish was easier on this website: attaching photos!

Please try again. I made some changes, I think.

JoeB,

Hopefully you'll be able to see the touch-up photos I posted. The stuff is called "Touch-up Magic." I bought it off the web, but I can't remember the site's address. This information appears on the bottle:

touchupmagic@frys.com
1702-H Meridian Ave.
San Jose, CA 95125

The stuff was cheap, something like $7.95 for about an 8 oz. bottle. But the shipping was huge money! Around $12.00!

Solar,

Thanks for askin'.

I've done the clear bra and tinting thing.
This is what I'm planning to do next:

satellite radio
iPod attachment
sport shocks and springs (minimal lowering)
air filter
18" tires/rims
aluminum pedals

Any other suggestions?

Also, does anyone know how I can shorten the link address or at least put some on the next line? It's so long I have to scroll to read posts (Wow! Am I lazy!)

fotodad, Great, you got the link working! To make the link shorter, give people this address http://f1.pg.photos.yahoo.com/fotodad1958 They will have to click on the Solara folder.

Thanks for the info on the touch-up. I'll stop by that Frye's when I'm in San Jose next. -JoeB
