I have been checking this site out for about a year now (purchased "Da Lara" in Sept 04)and I gotta tell ya that this is a very kool place for all kinds of Solara info. I currently live in the LA area and drive a Black 2005 SE Sport 4cyl 5spd. Its mainly used for commuting 80 miles(rnd trip) to work so doing crazy mods is not a real priority. But nevertheless, I have done a couple of tings so far such as tint (20% rear & 35 % front) and the K&N Drop-in. My future plans for "Da Lara" consist of the Eibach drop, stereo, and some rimmage (19s or 20s). We'll see what happens after all that is done.

Welcome to the forum, sounds like you've made a list of moderate upgrades. Seeing how you're using your car for the commute, the 4 cylinder was a good choice for better gas mileage.

Good luck with it and keep us posted on your choice of shoes for your ride.

The looks of oversized wheels is one thing; living with them is quite another.

Think of it as having an attractive but temperamental spouse.

This has worked for me as an economical solution. Take a high resolution picture of a wheel/tire combo you find attractive. Take it to a professional camera and get it blow up into a print the exact size of your current wheels (be sure to get it laminated). One you have the round photographs (be sure to get at least four of them), just sturdily attach them to your car.

Thus, you have most of the appearance benefits (at least to the casual observer) without the ride quality and theft concern headaches.

If I can give you any help in the future about modifying your car, you're clearly in big trouble.
