WOOHOO! I fit - and SLE Convertible w/ Nav avail in PDX

I got a call from one of the local Portland Oregon. They had a 2006 SLE Convertible w/ Nav come in on special order. The guy backed out of the deal. The only problem for me is it was white - I want silver and have one on order myself.

At least I got to go sit in it and drive it. WOOHOO! I actually fit very comfortably in there - am over 6' tall and have problems with many cars.

Now I REALLY can't wait for mine!

Congrats (to be.)

Being 6'4", I can appreciate the Solara's "non-Japanese" sized interior.

I think you'll really like the white. It makes it different from most cars.

(According to PPG, 35% of the new cars purchased last year were silver.)

Looking forward to your first pics. (Don't forget to include that Supra as well!!

I understand the fit part. At 6'5" the first thing i do with any new car is see if I fit in it. Its suprising how many you would think have room that don't and how many small cars have tons of room, like the 90's MR2's and Supras.
When in doubt gas it out, brakes just slow you down.

I have an 89 Supra Turbo and have driven my fair share of MkIV Supras as well and I fit nicely in those cars. The most shocking was that I actually fit in the 3rd gen RX7.

The Miata, MR2, and S2K are all out of the question though. Practically have to bend my knees backwards to get in and out - and we won't even go into the fact that someone else has to tell me when the light turns green if I am the first car at the light.

Congrats on your soon to be drop top. I miss living in Portland. Perhaps one day I'll move back.

I'm 6'2 and I sit very comfortably in the Gen 2 :D .

Enjoy your stay. There are several Gen 2 drop tops on here and are already tricked out.

I promised my wife that the Solara would stay "mostly" stock for quite a while. I have a LOT of projects lined up for the Supra once I don't have to drive it every day.

I am looking at the Ground Effects kit and probably an iPod2Car - I can't be limited to just 6 discs in the stereo (If I have over a month worth of music on the server at home why not have that in my car too). :)
