I have a 1999 Toyota Solara SE 5spd that's pretty much a manual SLE (with leather, traction, etc). It just hit 40K miles. I got it on some 18 chromies!! I also have a 700 watt kenwood amp in it with one 12" sub (BSL Competition, rated 400 RMS, 800 peak).

I'm new to the site, but I was wondering what CHEAP (not cheap quality, but cheap in price) preformance upgrades I can get? I have a budget of $800 and no clue when it comes to preformance...I'm more of an Audio/Visual guy.

I'm currently setting "my biotch" up with 4 screens (2 in the head-rest's, 1 in the passenger visor and one flip out, all Alpine), an x-box, interior and exterior streetglow, and an onboard Mac G4 (so I can play my pro-tools beats for clients). That is all in progress....I'm waiting on the installer.

What do I do with the engine to get better gas mileage and improve horsepower? I don't want a crazy-ass race car - (Remember, I got all that Audio/visual crap in there and it's heavy, + the rims make it even heavier) I just want it to sound mean and to lower it maybe an inch, maybe 1.5? What do I need to buy? Right now, I'm getting about 17 MPG...beofre I put all that crap in, I was getting 23. Is there anything I can do to improve horsepower and imrpove gas mileage at the same time? Also, how do I make it sound and preform like a Nissan Skyline? Is it impossible? HELP!

(If I can't get the solara to work out the way I want it to, I'm gonna have to buy a skyline!)

Finally - I have a cardomain page with pics:
