Best way to listen to ipod in car

The whole cassette adapter thing just isn't working. What would be the best way to listen to the ipod with good quality and hopefully pretty cheap? Something like a wired FM transmitter, or will one of those cd changer interface ipod adapters work? I have the stock JBL 6 disc changer.

Thanks

fm transmitter should work. and the cd changer will too. CD changer's a bit more complicated but will definitely get you better sound

I would like to use the cd changer, but i dont think it has the interface for it (bc there is a built in changer). For the FM modulator wiring the antenna seems easy but how could I wire the power?

thanks

I take it you dont wana buy a whole new HU.
Prolly not.
Well, I have a Pioneer Pemier HU. I have the Ipod attatchment routed through the back of the glove box. So all I have to do is plug it in and shut the box. I can control the Ipod through the HU. 8)

imo, i think fm transmitters suck with all the interference and static, and the cassettes are just too cumbersome. I have a pretty old hu and i use the aux line in for the connection and it sounds great. Other than that you dont have many options with the stock Head unit, unless there is an aftermarket oem connector available.

Sorry for caps but DO NOT GET AN FM TRANSMITTER! Sounds like crap and transmission can become even worse. Fighting with the different area FM stations is a nuisance.

I still have mine but don't use it because it has gotten so bad that I prefer to listen to AM radio!

im still with my factory radio with a cassete adaptor and it works clearly than anything else, if you have a aftermarket radio buy a ipod ready and audio wire

Honestly, the best quality you'll find is a Head Unit that has has ipod interface built into it. You can access the ipod via the headunit and the quality is bout the best you can find. I have pioneers in my corolla and camry and they both have ipod interfacing. Don't know how I listened to music before it. I seldom ever even load CDs in them

Hell yeah! Ive used the Ipod interface for years now. Then I broke my Ipod and it felt like I was back in the cassette days. :( Constantly changing CDs sucked. I miss my Ipod.

Yeah, I have one in my '02 with the JBL Single-Disc head unit, but it uses the input for what would normally be an auxiliary CD changer.

Since the OP's car has the 6-disc changer, I don't think he would have the necessary input, or if he does, his changer will probably be using it.

Here's the one I'm using, or at least one very similar.

Hey, just wanted to resurrect this thread. What are some good FM transmitters (cheap) or HU that work well with iPods?

My cassette deck is broken, and any FM transmitter I use gives me static feedback.

Anyone?
