I'd like to buy an amp to power an INFINITY Reference 1020W 10" subwoofer (250W RMS). I have heard good reviews about US Acoustics.

Is it just one reference or two? Also are they SVC or DVC and have you purchased them yet or are you still open for suggestion

The Infinity Reference series are SVC. I don't know about the 10" version, but I have 2 of the 12" references, and they sound pretty impressive (much better than you would think). They are deep and loud, and I only paid $140 for 2. I saw them a while back at Circuit City for $79 for 2 12". At either price, they are a bargain imo, and I think you'll be very hard pressed to find a comparable sub for anywhere near that price. :fadein:

Actually it can. Being a single voice coil woofer you may want to consider using a mono-block amplifier. Its just a single channel amp. Less wiring etc. If you had a dual voice coil woofer you could use a 2 channel amp with 1 channel on each voice coil. But then again you could wire the VC's in series or parallel depending on impeadance and use a mono-block amp again.

And yes the US Acoustics are good amps as well as crossfire. If you want to step up to a really nice amp look at some PPI's. The older ART series are very clean, good amps. U can find them on ebay usually..

A Soundstream Angina would be a great amp to drive that sub.
