next thing you know you're going to install a printer in your glovebox. vip style.
where many hate, few will love,
But for those who love,
they'll see what it's like to live.

well i could definetely design and set up the whole system, but for the installation you'd be on your own or have to bring your car to me. it would take about 1.5 days of install time.

wow I just saw this! I have a lot of questions. I'm guessing that this isn't cheaper than buying a system like this already built. I guess this gives you a lot more freedom thou... What was the total $$ amount spent? (if you don't mind me telling me) I would really love to do this as a project, I can see my self doing some thing like this cause I am a little more computer orientated. :P Don't mean to wake the dead but since i've been considering a head unit upgrade I would love to know if this is actually a realistic cost affective possibility......

its cheaper than an all in one headunit. my total cost was around 700-800 and it can vary depending on how fancy you get.

Regular - no need to blow all kinds of dough with the SSD. Havent had any problems in 2 years with the vertically mounted laptop.
