I got my sub installed, i am kinda unhappy that i had to tap the high inputs and couldnt connect the RCA. Anyways thats another topic to discuss.

My question is, what is the most ideal setting for the sub AMP.
As you must know there are 3 settings on the AMP

INPUT LEVEL (4v to 200mV)
LPF FREQUENCY
BASS BOOST (GAIN)

I want more boom than the constant humm that you get when base is too high.
Anyone with any ideas. I played around a bit and saw that when the LPF setting is low and input level is high, you get sharper bass.

thanks,

Try lowering bass boost on the amp. As you know I have the exact same setup as you do but connected with RCAs and the bass is perfect. It only hits when it should.

RCAs would be ideal, but you should be able to fine tune your system to sound a little better

put the lowpass at about 80hz

set the bass boost (which isnt the gain) to zero

for the input level (gain), start at 4 volts and slowly turn it up until you hear distortion then back it down a bit. do this with head unit volume at about 85%.
