installing woofers in door
what i did for mine was to glue and screw in the speaker to the original plastic triangular mount, so i could use the original holes in hte door. however, even though I know I have a nice tight seal between the speaker and the door, the bass is still not hitting. i was told that to get the bass like it should be, i need to use foam tape to create a seal between the speaker face and the outer skin of the door. if anyone has noticed, if you look at the backside of the grill on the door skin, there is a ring that sticks out towards the speaker so that it will meet the factory ones at their face. the factory speakers have a ring on their face to meet the ring on the door skin. has anyone tried adding foam tape to their aftermarket speakers to recreate this seal?
