All that to remove two speakers??? :o

Why not open the trunk and let a little air in there too! Smells kinda "gamey"! ;)

my seats and bottom half of inner molding were still in throughout my install

my first guess is you are putting in fresh wires

Yup, that's the sad truth for Gen1 owners who want new speakers... Except I didn't completely remove the seat; I just folded the seats down, removed the bottom cushion and placed a packing blanket in place of it to prevent it from scratching the leather (SLE).

As for the back coverboard, I just folded it over in place of the backs of the cushion. I didn't want to mess with more seat belts than I needed to since I'm the biggest safety freak on earth, considering that I ordered a new OEM steering wheel (thanks Jai) instead of say, a Momo with no airbags.

Well I am running new wires but that's not why. I was just under the impression that you had to from my previous searches on removing the rears. It only took about 30 min to do it all anyways so it wasn't a big deal. Just a pain the first time.

What's funny is I don't even have my speakers ordered, I just wanted to get this part out of the way.

What are some opinions on this setup? Will this amp be okay?

Rears - JL Audio VR690CXi

Amp - JL Audio 300/4

I'd especially like to hear from cam2Xrunner, Jeff, and Kenny as well.

Credit card is ready, just wanted to see what everyone thought.

Thanks guys,
-Anthony

Do not going with:
Rears - JL Audio VR690CXi
http://www.woofersetc.com/index.cfm?fus ... uct_ID=941

In the rears....
I would go with 6.5 components...

I had the JL 5x7 components in the rear and they didn't sound that great. Right now I have the 6.5 MB quart components in the rear and they sound much better.

Like what I explained to you in my PM...

welcome to the club..i removed my rear 6 x9's completely..

i run a single 10" sub in the rear and a set of comps up front..thats it.

i tune for sq but can get pretty silly loud if i want

i would highly recommend deadening..first front doors..next anything else..this will yeild really good results with your components midbass..rattle..etc.etc..

That's exactly what I did, I bought JL XR650 CSI's for the components and nothing in the rear, I'm going to have 1 of my 10's in the trunk and use the holes as ports. I Dynamated the entire back speaker panel and my doors. I should be good to go.
