Need Help Finding a New Stock HU

Postby GravityInvert » Sun Mar 26, 2006 7:10 am

I've searched forever, and I guess I'm putting in the wrong search text, but I can't seem to find a site that sells the JBL Stock H/U for a 1999 SLE. I'm really into keeping the car looking stock, and a few buttons are beginning to stick and not work. But mainly I would like to be able to continue using the amp that came with the premium audio :D . Any suggestions?

You won't find one "new". Best bet is to find someone else on these forums who has one and is willing to part with it (someone who has upgraded their system) or to check out eBay - I know that as long as it's from a 1999-2003 w/ the premium system, it will work.

Thanks! I suppose my next question is does anyone know of a head unit that is appealing to the eye as the oem.

Take your HU to some one that will clean the stickey buttons. Might as well have them lube/clean and inspect it.

Why on earth would you actually WANT to keep using the stock JBL amp. That thing pales in comparison to an aftermarket amplifier. The stock JBL speakers kick ass though... they sound much better when using aftermarket HU and aftermarket amp though. Get a lot of distortion at high volume with factory
