You rip out the plastic dash cover which is just clips on and than there is 4 screws holding the deck in place and voila you're done

StockSolara doesnt know what he talking about haha...

Heres a lil easier explanation...
1. remove the ash tray
2. gently start pullin on the left side of the center console where the ashtray used to be. It may seem like it wont come out, but just give it a few gentle pulls... itll come out
3. work from the bottom up of pullin out the center console and that should be it...

theres four clips that are holding down the center piece all located around the radio area...

after youve pulled out that center console, youll see the four screws/bolts that are holding down the radio.... you should know what to do from there

good luck

You are not the first to be fed this spoon of cacki-dookie. All you need for an aftermarket system to work in the solara, JBL or not, is a $15 wiring harness. I used a Scosche that was labeled Toyota 87-up. I forget the actual model number - search for it on this site. There was a post about bypassing your factory amp a while ago. Basically, if you are JBL, the stock toyota harness (i.e. goes right to the speakers, not the JBL amp behind the glove box) you dont re-use the plug from your old JBL headunit. Instead, reach in and to the right of the head and use the two white plugs for your aftermarket h/u hookups.

There it is. That post should be printed out and distributed to all the borderline retarded salespersons/installers at Best Buy, Circuit Sh!tty, etc...
