Most likey yes, I fit an Excel W18 in there with a 1/2 inch MDF trim ring but as always you need to check the depth. The reason I said likely is because some manufacturers make strange speaker baskets.

I like it a lot. Good low end and detail. I have the LCY 110 ribbons and use an Eclipse 8455 for an active a 2-way front stage. The mids are powered by a Zed Deuce at 100 watts per rated for 8 ohms. The ribbons at 37.5 per at 8 ohms by a PG Ti 500.4.

You really need to go in there once and take measurements. The physical specs are avilable for most speakers so that should do you.

yeah i will have to if no one else has..just wanted to save myself the trouble if someone has gone through it already..if i do end up doing it ill list the results..

mids are 8 ohm huh? i hear alot about the 8 ohm deal not mattering much but this definitely does not apply to subs. I would guess mids are a bit different because of the relatively small amount of power they require.

i am so stuck on what the hell to get for the front. i have had nothing but factory (aftremarket) sets and want a diy'er but am worried about balancing the hard midbass i like and sq. a 3 way seems like the answer but i dont think i want to go there..not yet anyway..no kicks etc..

Well if it helps I believe the W18's measured to about 3 1/4 inches depth and I experimented mounting it directly to the door temporarily and it cleared. Now as for the hole diameter, a shallow trim ring should give you no problems with a 7 incher. Bigger than that and you're on your own

I think we all have concerns about doing things to the interior but if you want the best sound (imaging etc.) from your investment, you have to make some sacrifices. In my opinion the rewards are worth it.
