Subs wont work.

Subs wont work.

Basically I worked all night to wire my subs and run power wires and grounds. Only to find that my subwoofer will not play music.

Here is what I have got.

4 Awg power wire from battery to trunk fused.
4 Awg ground to clean ground.

Two- Kicker Dual 4-Ohm subwoofers and a Hifonics TX1005D.

The subs are wired to 1 Ohm.

The amp turns on. The Power Green LED lights up. On the bass knob the blue Logo lights up. The Red Protect LED does not light up.

The subs bump slightly when turned on. The subs bump slightly when turned on.

I have the amp set @

Subsonic -25
Bass EQ- 0
Low Pass- 50
Phase- 0
Gain- Low (But I turned it up higher and still got now sound all the way to 3/4 of a turn.)

I think its something with a filter or a signal. Anyone have any ideas?

What's the complete system? What headunit? How many RCA outputs exist?

To me, it sounds like you put the subs on the rear RCA set instead of the non-fade set (muddy/no bass). Double check that.

After that, make sure your amplifier can handle a stable 1 ohm load. Some amps have protection to avoid damage itself/speaker if the resistance is incorrect... cheaper amps, like my friend's MTX, will play by clipping the subs lol...

I have the correct ohm load.

I put the RCAs onto a set that said... Rear Output.

My headunit is a Panasoinc DEH- P7700MP

http://www.crutchfield.com/S-ln40Jlb7QN ... 130DEHP770

I now have the subwoofers RCA plugged into the Subwoofer RCA Output.

Still lights up, Still bumps on turn on/off. Other than that I get nothing.

Could a ground? miswiring of the sub series be the issue? Maybe a lose wire? Something like that?

I have both of my negative wires for each speaker going to the terminal.

Instead of splicing like the photo shows. I dont think that makes a diffrence.

I think that head unit has a seperate sub volume control which can mute the subs. Check that. Also make sure you have all of your crossovers set corectly, a sub will not play high frequency sounds. Also, make sure you have your rca's connected to the sub outputs of the head unit, as it should have a crossover. If you are connected to another rca pair, check your fader, it may be faded to another place.
You said you head unit is a Panasonic, but you gave a link to a Pioneer head unit, and gave a Pioneer model number. If your head is the Pioneer this should help:

Directly from pg 51 of your owners manual:
"This unit is equipped with a subwooder output which can be turned on or off."

1 Use "Multi-control" to select "Sub-W1." "Sub-W1" appears in the display. You can also select the subwoofer setting menu by pressing "SW" on the unit. When subwoofer controller setting is "PREOUT: FULL," you cannot select "Sub-W1"

2 Press "Multi-Control" to turn subwoofer output on. "Normal" appears in the display. Subwoofer output is now on.

I am assuming you are using 6.5" speakers in the front, so I would suggest the 80hz setting for the crossover. If you listen to a lot of Rap and R&B then go for 125hz, as this will give you a larger bass response in the upper frequenies. You also need to turn up the "lowpass" setting on your amp. right now you have it set to 50hz, which is extremely low, turn it up to the same number as you set the head unit to (ie head sub setting at 80, set amp lowpass to 80; head set to 125, set amp lowpass to 125).
