Went to drop mine in and they're too deep for the stock bracket. Looks like I'll either have to break off some plastic on the back or get a custom bracket. Anyone else run in to this problem and what did you do?

I had those in my camry.

Best bet for mounting ANY speakers is to have MDF mounting rings made. You can get ahold of Marv for some, he should have some already made to fit the front doors.

Just finished making my own out of 1/4" MDF. It's way too hot outside, I need an air conditioner in my garage.

Any advice on getting speaker wire through the stupid rubber tube between the car and the door? My fingers hurt.

Disconnect it from the doors, get a coat hanger and twist the end to make a loop, and tie the speaker wire to the loop. Pull it through.
