speaker amp wiring/location

I'm kindof stuck here. I was thinking about getting a 4-channel Infinity Reference amp for my speakers, it does 111Wx4 RMS at 4 ohms, but according to crutchfield it requires 8awg wire. So I went over to the12volt.com and it says you cannot run 400watts on 8awg over 8 feet, but
8awg is required to hook up to the amp, and the only place I can think of to
put the speaker amp is in the trunk with my sub amp, which is too far for that wattage and gauge wire. Any ideas/suggestions for placement/wiring of this setup? Thanks a lot.

I thought that because the webpage says it requires 8 gauge is because that is the size of the connector, nothing else would fit it, especially any bigger sizes.

If need be they make a step down adapter to go from 4ga to 8ga. Its just a small metal piece with 4 ga hole and 8 ga pin that goes into amp. Depending on how large ur amplifier is if may mount under the front pass seat. Thats where mine is at..

I ended up just running a distribution block. 4ga in, 4ga out and 8ga out. Also I'm only going to be using 2 channels for the speakers so the wattage/current should not exceed what's allowed for 4ga at the range I'm using.
