just curious, im looking to get rid of the stock jbl, i mean yes my system is loud due to the audiobahn line driver and the amp for the mids and highs, just wondering whats the best speaker to buy for that...
Note: I do have pioneer speakers in my rear deck, just looking for the doors and tweeter, was thinking about adding some speakers...just want your thoughts...
also if money was not a factor what would you get?

How much power are you going to be sending the new component set?

I just put in a set of DLS Iridiums in my friends tacoma and they sound REALLY good, and only get better after break in. I had a set of Infinity Kappa perfects in my camry and they don't shake a stick at the DLS.

They're pricey though.

If money is not a factor I'd get a nice 150 watts rms X 2 amp such as the jl 300/2 or the phoenix gold ti600.2 or DLS A3 to power the components and run the rear speakers off the headunit.

When you say money is not an option I'm sure it is cause there's component sets that run upwards of 2k. don't think you wanna drop that much. So in reality what is your budget for a set of component speakers? A nice set of components can easily handle any where from 150 watts to 200 watts rms to each side of the component. Will your amp send them that much power? If not I'd rec. upgrading to something more powerful.

the most id probably want to spend is 400, i didnt realize how much some of those component sets cost, i already have a DHD 200x2 amp, not sure if thats 150x2 rms...dont have the booklet to let me know how much power it is, i have the pioneer premier 860mp, audiobahn line driver, jbl bp1200 amp for the premier 2000spl subs, and the dhd for the insides, dont know if that helps but i just feel that the jbls gotta go...

If you want to spend 400 I'd rec. spending half that on an amp, the dhd is not doing you any justice compared to the rest of the system. I'd go for a nine.2 amp and eDi6500s combo for around 400. That would be sweet.

Oops sorry, www.edesignaudio.com Elemental designs, sign up for their newsletter and forum at www.icixsound.com for more info and discounts. They have some really good stuff and it comes with free shipping and 3 year warranty. I esp rec. the eDead, very thick and much cheaper than dynamat extreme.

The eDi6500s components are VERY nice speakers. Their amps are pretty sweet too. Call them for the best price and to find out if they are in stock or not.

Im running the Jl Audio VR600CSI Components linked to a 300/2 Jl Amp. The Compenents are good. I think the tweeters are actually a little too crispy. But out of 5 stars i would give it a 4. The components in the front are so clear and loud that they take over my rears. I dont even hear my rear highs and mids. only the sub and the fronts.

Probably going to put new ones in the ZR line for both the front and the rear and get the 300/4 to power them or the 450/4.

I'm a JL Audio person from the beginning and i think i always will be. I just love the way JL can produce so much power and sound quality.

click on my www and you can see what im running as my system.

Running Alpine Type X components up fron with 6.5" (hate the oval) Alpine Type R's in the back running off a 50x4 Eclipse amp with a 12" Type R making the thump off a 375 rms R/F amp. Head is a Alpine 9835. Looking to get the 7998 (din + 1/2 model). Straight Monster Audio wiring with a 1/2 fard cap.

Hey have you tried bridging that amp to power just the front components? You should give it a try and see how you like them.

My speakers are Polk audio db525(5 1/4) and rear db690(6x9) with two AW12t subs by audiobahn. Amps kicker digital 600x2sx, and a kicker 100x2kx for rears. Sounding alright for now :).
