I have a stock system in my Solara. Actually I like it, and it sounds pretty good. I was wondering if this thing has a built in amplifier or has one attached in the trunk somewhere under the seat? I can't believe a stock radio has so much power, but it does.

I am thinking of swapping it our for a Sony AM/FM/CD/MP3 XM ready unit I have with new speakers etc. But for now just wanted to know if you all know why the stock system is so powerful as it is?

Thanks,
