Problem with sub and amp

Problem with sub and amp

Postby StockSolara » Thu Dec 23, 2004 1:32 am

I'm trying install the amp and sub into my car and the way my set up was to have a two way splitter for the wires in the back speakers to go into the amp and then the sub. The problem is that when ever I turn off the car and turn it back on the sub and the back speakers do not work but when I unplugged the speaker wires from the amp it rear speakers go back on and then I plug it in the sub works again. So I really can not figure out why when I turn off my car the sub and rear speakers would not work.

Thanks ahead of times for your input

a little grammar goes a long way. I read that over about 3 times and I still have no idea how you have your stuff wired.
Nascar would be a sport if half the cars were driving the other direction.

Check that the remote wire is secure if the amp wont switch on properly. Also, if you are tapping into your 6x9's you better be using some sort of speaker-level input. RCA's from the headunit are still the best way to go I think. How many watts are you pushing and what gauge wire is delivering the power?

well u might want to take it to a shop and get it done the right way, u dont want to mickey mouse it if u dont know what ur doing, or if u want to save money jus by an amp kit for like $20 and u can buy a converter to change ur wires in to rca's ($15) and diy. well good luck with that
