I had a set of Infinity Kappa in my old car. They were nice! I haven't heard the Alpine, so I'd have to go with the Infinity =P

Hey, realize this is an old post, but what would be a reasonable price (like on eBay) for the front speaker components, and what size fits the Gen 1?

More opinions in the price ranges.

100-150 bucks you have the Pioneer Rev series components, Elemental Designs eDi6000S, Oz Audio Vectors i believe ar in this price range too.

150-200 bucks- Alpine Type-X (SPX-177R) MB Quart PSD's like this http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vi ... %3AIT&rd=1
JL XR components,

200-300 MB Quart PCE216, eDi 6500s/CDT HD, ID Chameleons, OZ Audio matrix Elite, PG Elite

amp

Postby hskrsolara » Sun Aug 28, 2005 10:21 pm

Hey, if you're looking for a 2 channel amp for the rear speakers, I have a Kenwood 800 watt amp for sale. Was using it for the subs, but changed my setup. It's only 5-6 months old and works great.

I have 6.5 MBQuart QM218.65(not sure if thats the exact model number) and for the rear I have 6x9 MB Quart DTK 169.

The QM series I got it for $370 and the DTK was I think $120. I also have an eclipse 4 channel amp, but I've been too lazy to hook it up. Its very clear and crisp.

Hey, I know I should probably know this already, but:

What's the difference between component speakers and regular speakers? I see that the components tend to have more "stuff" with them, but I don't really get it.

And in what situations do you guys recommend using one over the other?
