Get the apple one, do it right. Who the hell has an hp one, or will get one when it comes out. Might as well get a Nomad Zen or something. They work too, if price is your issue. My 30gb apple has held up for the year Ive had it and I use it in my car religiously, it never leaves my car. I have over 3500 songs on it and it works, and sounds good too.

the only reason im considering getting the hp ipod is that it is from costco and their return policy is one on of the best out there. no questions ask. so i dont need to purchase warrenty with the product if it was purchased from best buy and etc.. and most of those stores have a 30 day or less return poliy + restocking fee. imo i dont really care about the name. as long as it works and its covered then i am set.

Same innards... I think the only difference on the iPod itself is the HP logo on the back (along with the Apple Logo). The software might be slightly different (still includes iTunes though... probably doesn't include the Mac version... but you can just download that if necessary).

Oh yeah, and the instructions inside are a bit different... more Windows-centric...

(will hold back joke about Windows and extra directions...)

Melody,

I see you went with an even more expensive one...hahha. DANG 40GB...Wow. That's lotta music. I agree with you bout warranty, so go with Costco. I never knew that was their policy. Looks like I'll be shopping from Costco before I shop anywhere else.

Michael
