Im going to put new speakers and run them off an amp so im going to run new speaker wire so i need to know how to route the wire from inside the car through that tube into the door panel....... dont know where the speakers enter the tube from inside..... does that make sense??? people who installed new speakers know??? help me out... THANKS for all the help so far!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :D   :bday:

BEST BUY
have them do it all for probably under $100
then you won't have any problems and if you do it's their fault

You should find someone to do that wiring for u...
but if you want to do it urself, u'll need to make a slit on the rubber grommet and route the wire inside ur car.

since u have quality amps and speakers, best buy is the last place you want to go to...

install is everything, i say try it yourself, if it doesn't sound right, try it again...

but find a nice shop in your area instead of best buy

you dont need to do that... just run the wire from your amp to your wireharness..... no need to go thru all that trouble.... leave the wires from the harness to the doors alone...

thats what i did and i haven't had any problems...

i am assuming that your are running a aftermarket radio...

yes i will be using an aftermarket radio, but wouldnt the stock wires be too thin for the power ill be runing to the comps?? (100rms)???? wouldnt running the amp speaker wire straight to the speakers be easier than having to route it to the center console??? well it does seem easy to do it your way too......... but i think the stock wires are too small??????? the wires from the stock harness have to go into the door too so i dont think its TOO hard to find a way into the door......??? is EVERYONE with new components wiring it this way(amp speakers wires to stock harness)?????????? thanks!

i don't think u really know how a audio system works...

h/u's remote wire and rca goes to the amp. The power from the harness only powers the h/u and if ur gonna run speakers off of it. Power to the components should be from the amp.

............. yes..... i know all that...... sorry if you misunderstood me, but the stock harness is connected to the stock speaker wire which is connected to the stock speakers am i coorect??? SO, instead of connecting the speakers wires FROM the h/u to the stock harness, route the speaker wires from the AMP to the stock HARNESS so that it can power the speakers via the stock harness, and you dont have to route the NEW speaker wire through the door.... get it??? how do you wire your speakers??? arent you running new focal components if im not mistaken....... THANKS!

i just found an old PM from B master flash, that kind of answers my question.... well it says practically the same thing iazuncupidi said but here it is...........

"You don't need to replace all the wiring, it would make a very slight (completely unnoticible) difference, but its a lot of work and definitely not worth it. When wiring the amp, (assuiming you will mount it in the trunk) run the speaker wires down the passenger side (keep the power wire and remote wire on the drivers side, and keep speaker wire/rcas on the passenger side) then behind the glove box (which you will have to remove). Take the deck out and find the actual speaker wires that go to the speakers, then cut them and connect the wires from the amp to them."

i guess it is alright to use the stock harness to power the speakers.... it doesnt make a noticeable difference in quality i suppose??? This way does seem more simpler......... Would i need to cut into the wires in the stock harness or could i use the new harness that the new deck comes with??? THANKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

it depends on the system ur gonna be putting in ur car...u mentioned 100w rms for the components which could use the stock wires, but it may be too small. Remember that the stock speakers are only 20w and the wiring is for that kind of small system.

I actually put both the power wire to the amp and speaker wire from the amp to the components thru the rubber grommet.

why would your speaker wire need to go outside into the engine bay??? confused.... or does it need to go there to be run into the door? cause when i felt near the jam where the rubber loom is (from the inside) i couldnt feel the speaker wires coming into the cabin..... but felt a metal panel so maybe the wires go thru the fron quarter panel first???

Maybe we're talking about different rubber grommets. The power wire goes from the engine bay to the rear of the fender thru the rubber grommet and back to the trunk. The speaker wire can go from the trunk thru the grommet and into the door.
