People with an amp for speakers and a seperate amp for subs, what size power wire do you use from the batt to the d-block, and what size from d-block to amps??? I am going to be running two amps, one putting out 100x2 and the other 400x1, and was wondering if 4gauge from batt to distro and 8 from distro to amps is too small?? 1/0 gauge is pretty expensive and pretty fat! Can 1/0 gauge still be routed through that one hole that you drill behind the "white plastic proppeller thing" on the upper left of brake pedal??? sorry if this is confusing!! THANKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :D :bday:

you are very borderline, no one around you has 2 gauge? But on the plus side, you wont cause any fires with 4 gauge
If it doesn't kill you.....it only makes you faster!

I'm running 4 gauge wiring to 2 amps. A monoblock D class 1000 RMS/2000 peak amp, and a ~400 RMS/800 peak 4 channel amp for components. Both Eclipse. No lack of power or dimming lights for me :D

The gauge depends on the amount of power. If the amp recommends 4 gauge, then use a bigger wire from the battery to the d-block and then use 4 gauge wires. That way, you'll have power coming in and being distributed correctly. 100% to 50%/50% as opposed to 100% to 100%/100% wires that are too big, hence giving more resistance x_x

something like that, anyhow

CAPACITOR? What's that ? :P

for the 2 ch. amp it says:

up to 10' ---- 4 or 8 gauge up to 20' ---- 4 gauge only

and for the mono amp it say:

up to 70' --- 4 or 8 gauge up to 20' ------ 4 gauge only

i dont know if the numbers are in feet.... but i think the instruction for the mono amp is a typo cause wouldnt you need thicker wire if your running it very long and vise versa??? maybe they meant to put 7' not 70'??
confused....

help me out here... THANKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :D

You're fine with the 4 to 2 8's. The 4 definitely holds enough current to feed both those amps, but you might wanna go big so you have room to upgrade later.(just an option)If you upgrade the wires later it'll be pricey. I happen to have a spindle of 0 gauge wire by the way.

About half a 4 gauge, which is allot of amps. I bet your Circuit breaker or fuse will not even be close to around 80(even for your sub amp)..but u may wanna upgrade later. so keep that in mind.
