LOL.... crutch is the biggest rip off around... I got the Alpine 9815, a step higher than the 9813 you're looking at, for $350 from the vendor Sell 2 All on Ebay. Brand spankin new, factory sealed box.... They're one of the highest rated vendors, and I've gotten a lot from them, all in excellent condition. As far as the head unit goes, I love my 9815. Its got excellent response, very versatile, and Alpine is one of the best names out there. I'm going to be putting Infinity Components in as well once I get some extra cash. Its well worth the investment.

Tad: The pre-outs are fantastic... the internal amp is too powerful for the stock speakers. From my experience, and the experience of a certified installer friend of mine, Alpine is very honest with their wattages and often underestimates.... :D

Agreed! Alpine is no BS :). I like the layouts on their new decks. Clean Pre-outs are so nice. I can remember way back when like .8 volts was standard, so I really value clean outs :D.
Let's just pretend I didn't grow up, or you're going to be terribly disappointed.

Yeah I found it as low as $282.99 by using www.nextag.com Cruchfield is a huge rip off. I don't want the 9815 cause I don't plan on getting any external amps and subs. 27X4 RMS and other features it has are pleanty for me to handle. The only good thing from cruchfield is they give free bees with most units to get your complete instalation. But even with the free stuff its still a rip off. I will save aprox $300.00 total from buying with other vendors.

I am going to check out that guy Sell 2 All on ebay. Thanks for the referral.
