HELP!!! Amp Placement???

Postby Paladin06Greg » Sat Jun 25, 2005 12:23 pm

OK, if you only have 200 amps(no fun intended) you should be ok. The sub and amps are mounted in a custom box that fills that hole in our trunk.

bassthrive wrote:No heat issues here greg. The amp never gets warmer than when I had it exposed, even on the hottest days that area stays nice and cool. I may worry a little if I were pushing more than just 200w.

How are you running your sub? I see a board where you screwed your amps in but is the speaker free-air or is there some sort of box extending into your back seats that I'm not seeing?

200 amps, immagine what that would sound like :o

"1.21 Gigawatts!?!?!?!" Back To The Future

I think the amp has too big of a foot print to mount under the rear speakers. Immagine what all that chrome and neon loos like when its operational. Oooooooo

Along with the blue neon trunk light, it's a beautiful thing.

Your best bet is the back seat.
Or you can have the box on which ever side you like.
Then make a baffle and attach it to the sub box.
Try 500 watts.

Amp mounted! :)

I screwed it into the rear of the back seat with wood scerws about an inch long. Had shorter ones, but after they got through the mounting points on the amp i wanted to be sure they would have enough bite. Hope they dont come through the other side

Thanks again all

WJN333 wrote:LOL gotta keep the spare. I think we might have the same amp, similar at least. When i run the power can i put the fuse on the amp side of the cable, or does it have to be near the batt? Thanks

If you mount the fuse near the amp you might as well not install one at all
Nascar would be a sport if half the cars were driving the other direction.
