ok if your stock u will do this...(cheap)

buy the bass tube with amp. buy a set of RCA cables from your local circuit city or whatever.

also buy a 'line converter' from circuit city or again, whatever....(no i dont work for circuit city .lol)

you will put in your tube in the trunk....attach the 'red' and 'white' rca cables to the tube....

the other ends of the rca cable will plug into the line converter...done... there are four wires comming from the line converter. splice two of them (+ and -) like a brown and brown black wire, and then connect them to one of your back speakers (splice into the back speaker wires)...matching + and - on the speaker leads.

this will take the signal from the back speakers and transfer it to the line converter. The line converter will take out just the low frequency and pass it to the amp then tube.

o ya, and you need to run a pwr cable from the battery to the tube...and a ground wire.

a fairly small project. PM me with questions.

Absolutly couldn't said it better myself. ... As for better sound quality of the sub facing the front or rear of vehicle, I perfer the subs to face forward of vehicle. With this concept, you eliminate most of the trunk rattle. However, to face the sub to the rear, you give the subwoofers room to expand the basss waves (giving you the impression and feeling that your system is hitting very hard). Mostly I like the subs to be faced forward for souly the sound quality to be close sound stage simular to a stuido sound where you hear all the fine details. :D Sonic Nova... Yaa.

For 300 bucks this is what i would do

Ascendant audio Atlas 12" or 15" 105 bucks right now.
www.ascendantaudio.com

Sealed enclosure-50 bucks or so

LOC from www.davidnavone.com NE-8V(if you just want subs-get the NE-774V if you'd also like to be able to get an amp for the front speakers)
40 bucks

For an amp you can get a decent 2 channel class A/B amp and bridge it to get around 400 watts.

Maybe something like this
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vi ... 83352&rd=1

You'll have way better results than a bass tube(i am not a fan of these)

I hate to say that you were just convinced to buy about the worst set up you can get for the money. I was going to post suggestions but it looks like you already bought it, which is what I was explaining to cam2xrunner (a guy who actually knows his stuff). If I'm wrong and you haven't actually spent your money yet let us know and I'll get back to you with some suggestions, or you can go w/ what cam2xrunner already suggested.

Ok, Hello B_Master_Flash,

The stuff we were talking about was just a cheap way to get some bass. I understand it might not be the best. However, I have conpiled a list of components that would be better than the Bazooka-tube setup. The key here is how much you want to spend... No disrespect man. I admire your knowledge and could learn more from you as a newb... :P Here we go and also what do you think?. This is just for the setup if he's going to run the factory. :P Peace

AMP to run D class for power consumion efficiency:

Just say no to Bass Tubes :drinking:

If they sell out of those Atlas's get an Image Dynamics ID10V3 or ID12V3.

There's also a bunch of other amps that will work, if you don't like the looks of the MTX.

Thats a much more solid list than a bazooka bass tube. Bazooka is definitely on the list of brands to aviod. I'd say you went a bit overboard on the wires though, don't underestimate wallmart wire kits, theyre like 30-40 bucks for a 4 awg kit and you'd be supprized how little difference there is between them and a $100 fosgate kit. Good RCAs can make a difference, but try the cheapo one's first and see if you have an interference problem, if not then there's no need to upgrade. Most distortion comes from grounding problems anyway, not interference from the RCAs (although it does happen).
