How are you running the power for it?
I've heard some people who had the same screen say that the usb connector
falls out, have you had that problem?
Also, what did you do with your cigarette lighter plugs, and do you have instructions or can link me to some, on how to install a single-din device where you put your dvd player? Thanks.
Sorry for the late reply, bro. It's a lot of work to modify your dash and your lilliput. I need some times to write the DIY, I always wanted to write it but haven't found the time to do so.
Questions for you before you start cutting your dash.
1. Are you gonna put the computer in the car?
If so, the lilliput is ok for you. If you just want a screen to play DVD/games on, then you don't need to buy the Lilliput. The touchscreen only works when it connects to the computer.
2. Have you installed any stereo/electronic stuffs before?
On other car or your solara, play with your computer at home...ect... I need to know who I'm gonna write the DIY for.
Answer for your questions:
1. For the power, the lilli comes with the egg-shaded power supplie that regulates the power. That will plug into your ciggarret light output. That's it, and I recommend you to do the same since you can control the power by turn on the key. Without the key being turn on, nobody could mess with the screen.
2. I've used my carputer and the screen for almost a year now, and haven't got any problem with the touchscreen nor the USB. I've taken the dash out counless times. The final screen that you've seen is the product that I've got it after ruinning two console dashboards, one lilliput covers, bondo and shietss... LOL.
3. The ciggarret plug I used to connect to power the lilli (answer 1) and hid in the back. Normally, the dvd or cd player come with the sleeve for those Honda or whatever car, use that sleeve to measure and cut the bottom part of the ashtray out.

Cut inside the red line, leave the edge intact so that it could support the sleeve and the unit later..
AFter cutting, put the sleeve inside the opening and use bondo or glue to glue them together. I think you need to cut some plastic part of the dash down there in order to have rooms for the unit.
