uhhhhhh... are you implying that you have rca's run from your deck which you cut to plug into the high level input on your sub? If so, thats just terrible. I had imagined you just plugged your speakerwire that used to be going to your rear speakers into the high level input on your amp, which would be correct. If that is the case you should probably try a converter to use low level input. Either way it should have nothing to do with your amp overheating, sounds like its just messed up.
RCA wires were spliced into the speaker wires that came from the stock deck. I checked with the installer... he didn't use a line level converter... gonna go out to get one now... I think that will solve the problems... (the amp isn't actually overheating... we're thinking it's just getting a bigger load than it expected out of the rca inputs)
