best component speaker sets

Postby Ford_Fixorrepairdaily » Tue Aug 30, 2005 2:28 pm

Component speakers are speakers that come with 2 mid ranges , 2 tweeters and 2 crossovers.

Regular speakers are just 1 set of speakers.

I just ran across these.

DLS UP6 sets. We have two of these, both brand new in the box. I sell these for $319.00 through BHI. $200/per set

Hey Cam-

you have any specs on those DLS? I'm looking right now at infinity components, and I wanted to see how they compare.

No comparison whatsoever to DLS.

Those UR6's are looking tight... how much is shipping? Also, do they come with the crossovers that the Infinities have? (I know DLS is better, I'm just trying to figure out how much I need for the amount of time and money that has to be invested).

Also, are installation materials included? (I'm so bad with technical things, I'm gonna need the install to be as painless as possible)

ALSO (sorry), how well will they run off the MOSFET 50x4 internal amp in the Pioneer HU? (Don't have money to invest in a decent amp yet, though I probably will)

Thanks very much, I'm really really interested.

I'm not the seller, you'll have to contact Scott Buwalda. His email is on that post.

Yes they come with crossovers.

I'd really suggest getting an amplifier for them. (or any component speakers for that matter) You can pick up a good used amp for less than 70 bucks that will power those nicely.

Okay, nice- any recommendations for 2 or 4 channel amps in the under-100 range?

i had a pair of kappas. they sucked a big one in my opinion. metal tweeter was way harsh. if you goto a car audio forum such as carstereos.org they would agree too. i personally went with boston acoustics, they are some of the best sounding speakers ive ever heard. the midbass is unbeleivable. look them up, model rc620

kappas

Postby hskrsolara » Mon Sep 05, 2005 10:00 am

My kappas sounded like that in the beginning also, however all they needed was a little tuning on the amp and some tuning on the head unit. Now mine sound great! Mixed with the kappa 6x9's, they produce some tremendous sound. Sorry they didn't work as well for you, cause mine sound great.

I am using Morel 3-ways in the front, and Morel 2-ways in the rear. They have silk dome tweeters, and the front has a silk dome midrange. When it comes to tweeters think about it this way: Would you rather be hit in the ear by a piece of metal, or a peice of silk? Many audiophiles swear by Morel USA, and I am one of them.
