Stock JBL fronts (6.5"s) are 20w handling..its written on the speaker itself.

The rears dont have labeling though, but if the fronts can handle 20, the rears should be able to handle more.

im running 26w RMS to my speakers too. I have stock Non JBL fronts, and stock JBL rears (I swapped out the rears for JBLs, got em cheap)

No probs, except the front isnt as crisp as i want it to be at louder volumes.

Our speakers in the non JBL setup really arent that bad compared to alot of stock speakers out there (If youve sat in a civic/sentra/corolla and pump the speakers, it sounds much worse then our stock setup.) I definely vote for changing the HU first.

I am running 26 watts RMS x 4.

is that off of a headunit?
if it is, i'm sure it's more like 14w rms x 4
and then when u turn it up it starts distorting like crazy and your speakers will eventually go kablooooom

It is a headunit. Got that RMS from the manual. However the peak power is listed as 60w x 4 (but of course one always goes by RMS, not peak).
Anyway its a moot point because my speakers are loud and clear and only distort if I really, really crank the bass so I'm not too concerned about overpowering. :D

yes, but your should know, your headunit doesn't do anywhere near 26w x4 rms
