First of all, you probably should have posted this in audio/video, but the mods can worry about that.
Basically, there are 2 ways to go.
#1- If you just want bass, and are satisfied with you stock headunit and speakers, all you need is a mono or 2-channel amp, sub(s), and a box for the subs. I think 2 12" subs is the way to go- plenty of boom when needed, and a good balance between 10" and 15" subs. You'll need to have the amp installed if you don't know how to do it, but this setup should sound decent assuming you have the JBL stock system.
#2- To get the best sound possible, you'll need the above, plus a new headunit, new 6.5" component speakers for the front (component=midrange woofer + tweeter + crossover), new 6x9 speakers for the rear, and a 4-channel amp to power the front and rear speakers. In my opinion, since the rear speakers are just used to fill out the sound, I think the stock JBL's work fine. It's just not worth all that work taking out the rear deck to replace the rears, which you barely hear anyway.
So those are your two options, depending on your needs and/or budget.
