Piezo Buzzer

Piezo Buzzer

Postby YESCA » Sun Apr 29, 2007 12:54 pm

Ok we all know that some of the solaras have the neat BMW/Lexux beep when you use your keyless entry. Anyway, I have keyless entry on my 99XLE and I don't have that beep. I went out and bought a Piezo buzzer to install, has anyone done this or have a small write up to install the buzzer? any help would be awsome.

01 SE. blinkers flash and car beeps. I've done the roll the windows and lock test...no alarm (no security light in the dash as well). this is how it came from factory. hence my comments above.

Also.... if the buzzer happens to be out, where abouts is it? I have checked my Chiltons and it does not mention it.

I didn't see any instructions to specifically turn the beeping on/off, but good find nevertheless.

I had that problem once and it happened that the old piezo was not functioning. Just parallel connect the new buzzer to the old one and try then. Make sure you have the wires well stripped and connected.

Yes, you can program the piezo to have beep of just turn it off if it is annoying for you. The RS3200 instruction does tell you how to do it. Good luck.
