Mid-bass...baffles?

Postby hari-bhari » Fri Oct 13, 2006 11:10 pm

I just installed my DLS MS6 speakers today, whoo they sound amazing, especially the tweeters. However, the midbass hits, but its not nice and tight like i thought it would be. I get the feeling that there is too much air in that panel and theyre just not punching like they should. I have them mounted useing the factory triangular mount, with a nice tight seal. But what can be done about all that open space? Has anyone used a baffle for the speaker, or will dynamat or deadening material be the best bet? Vibrations really aren't my problem, I just really want to tighten up that punch, becuase i know these spkrs are capable

yes it will since there is more to deadner then anything it will give the speaker a more solid mount which will over more a direct sound and not rattle the door so it will sound alot better

These guys make great stuff for the money...

Or if you prefer Dynamat makes excellent stuff, pretty expensive tho...

You will probably need about 12-15 sq feet or a door kit (this is for the inner sheet metal only, ~20 sq ft. for both inner/outer door skin)
I ended up using two door kits - one for each door, and my mid-bass is GREAT, I'm not even using my subs any more. :D
