HELP!!! Amp Placement???

HELP!!! Amp Placement???

Postby WJN333 » Fri Jun 24, 2005 3:36 pm

Ok so Ive removed all the seats, and im trying to mount the amp for the sub. I dont think it will fit under one of the front seats with those a/c vents there. It seems too exposed on the back of the back seats and blocks the lever to open them from inside the trunk? upside down on the deck that hold the rear speakers, dosen't seem like a viable option?

Little help...PLEASE!

LOL gotta keep the spare. I think we might have the same amp, similar at least. When i run the power can i put the fuse on the amp side of the cable, or does it have to be near the batt? Thanks

Mount it to the back of the back seat. Vertical.

I like what you did there. Unfortunatly, i dont have custom work back there that you do.

Looks like that rear of the back seat is my best option.
Thanks for all the input all.

Its a KAC-8101D. You're gonna want to put the fuse close to the battery. Mine is approx 1 foot downstream of the positive terminal.

How is it going to breath. With almost no air flow your amp will have a very short life and high heat can cause poor sound quality as well. Here is where I put both of mine.

Love that chrome and blue neon stuff.

No heat issues here greg. The amp never gets warmer than when I had it exposed, even on the hottest days that area stays nice and cool. I may worry a little if I were pushing more than just 200w.

How are you running your sub? I see a board where you screwed your amps in but is the speaker free-air or is there some sort of box extending into your back seats that I'm not seeing? I'm diggin the chrome.
