i know i can probably get mdf from home depot, but i have no way of cutting a perfect 6.5" ring out with my equipment at home. i think hifibuys will do it for 20 bucks, but any other options?

Your best bet is probably to buy a sheet at Home Depot or such and find someone with a jigsaw, table saw or a stable hand and a sabre saw to cut it for you... If all else fails, $20 seems pretty damned reasonable.

I can do it if you let me know the dimensions you need and if its in a few hours...(going back to school) you just pay shipping ($5-6)

Do you want an outter 6.5" ring, so you can fit a smaller speaker inside of it? How thick you need the wood? 3/4 or 1/2??
