hey folks, hoping that someone on here can direct my aimless search.
I have an Alpine MRV-1000, 2 channel amp. OLD ( read Mid 90's) But it still works well enough for me. Does anybody know if there is a way to wire up a remote bass control to an amp that did not come with this*COUGH* vintage?
My end state is to achieve the following set up.

STOCK JBL system H/U and speakers with an added 10"solobaric in the trunk just to fill in the low end. My amp does not have line level imputs so that means a converter B4 the stock amp ( from what i have read on the boards).
But i am looking to have at least SOME control over the subwoofer remotely??
Any help would sure be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Matt, also, sorry for the length of the post

No need to be embarassed by having an older amp, especially the MRV-1000... It's a pretty nice amp, one of the better ones manufactured during Alpine's heyday. I, personally, still prefer older amps over newer ones for build quality and overall SQ / performance (newer ones are more efficient power wise, but aren't usually as well made).

Unfortunately I'm pretty sure there is not any sort of bass control available for that amp... The best way of getting that type of control would require getting rid of the stock JBL headunit and amp, and replacing it with a decent headunit with a sub control. TRUST ME when I say that upgrading your headunit, even if it bypasses the factory amp, will sound a whole hell of a lot better, even running the factory speakers!! This will also get rid of the need for the line-level adapter (they are complete garbage if you're into any sort of sound quality)...

Also, the Gen 1 has a standard double din so finding a nice, factory looking trim kit is no issue if that's a concern of yours...

The amp's a keeper... The factory headunit / amp are not!

Hope this helps,

-James
