Alpine CDA-9553
its alrite.

need some new 6 X 9's to really keep up.
what do you guys think? those pioneers that handle like 420 max watts each sound like a good set. not that expensive either. nothing else out there has a wattage rating close to it.

So, aside from "Alrite" how do you like that Alpine? And, if you don't mind, how much did they charge you for it? What are some stand-up nifty features of it? (I'm in the market myself...)

I think it is the best looking unit on the market. (Thats just my opinion). Sound quality is excellent.
It has the "glide bar" feature like that of an iPod, instead of those gae little buttons.
The tunability is outstanding. It actually has an independant speaker delay function to best suit the drivers listening position. And you tune it by the milisecond. It took like 5 minutes to adapt to the new features.

550 installed at Best Buy with a 4 year warranty.

i love it.

Hey, that sounds awesome-

does it play Mp3's off a burned CD? Also- how much did BB charge for installation? I'm hoping to do it myself/get some help on it, so maybe I can save that cost.

Also, what's the nearest comparable unit in the under-$300 range?

Sorry to pepper you w/ questions, just doin' some research.,

I got the 5-way Pioneer TS-A6991R speakers and they're 420 watts. They absolutely kick ass.

Imo you should not worry about the rear 6x9s for outstanding sound, I dont even hear my 6x9s. Your front speakers is where your awesome sound is at since you are sitting right there and they are pointed right at you. Get some nice component speaker set 6 3/4 for our gen1s?

And an amp for them.

F#CK rear speakers. They pull the soundstage and imaging back, and they block some of the bass output from your subs in the trunk(if you have subs)
