help! amp not getting power

help! amp not getting power

Postby jhenty » Mon Sep 12, 2005 9:20 am

I just installed my system in my 2000 solara. Its a eclipse deck with a an eclipse amp and a single eclipse 12" woofer. As far as I can tell everythings hooked up right. The system is grounded, connected to the battery and the remote wire is connected right as well but the amp is not getting power! Im not sure what i might be doing wrong. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Fuse or remote.... Where is your remote at? I think its better to tap the remote on the cig ligher line..
If still doesnt work then it might be your amp.

my deck has sub control, so the remote wire goes right to the back of the head unit.

What color wire is it hooked up too????

Make sure its not the power ant wire. The desk should have a Bue with white strip wire which is for powering the amp remote.

Also check your inline fuse from your battery to amp. I would replace it even tho it doesn't look broken sometimes those fuses can be defective.

Be sure the ground is secure... Thats all i can think of right now..... from what you have explained...

thanks for all your help guys, i double checked everything and rewired it and it ended up being a bad ground. I didnt even know a bad ground could cause something not to power up but I guess now I know. Thanks again.

I was gonna say the ground too. You gotta scrape away the paint really good. Then tighten it down tight. :drinking:

So how does it sound? Where do you have the LPF crossover set to?
