Plexiglass is hard to work with. Just in the case of your application, the plexiglass would have a hard time sealing the box. The vibrations from the subs will probably rattle the fastener loose; however, it sure looks nice... I think the MDF will hold better or even a custom fiber glass mold will do the trick. 1/2" Plexi is strong enough. When I make boxes w/ Plexi glass I've always made them MDF/Plexi Combo. Just try to hide your screws and seal w/ Silicone, Liquid Nails wont bond to plexi right. I dont know if its recommended (and I dont care) but I've always cut plexi w/ my table saw

^^ what he said..plexi comes in different thickness/strengths, so choose somthing you can diy cut with your tools and if you make custom cuts, get somthing you can sand and smooth!
(off topic: by i made a diy kitchen splash guard by using plexiglass by using a glue meant to stick to walls and then i screwed the plexi glass in corners, that thing is still up, and looks good!)

This is 3/4" pexiglass, is it as heavy as 3/4" MDF??
Where can i get some pexiglass besides cardomain.

Well i was wonderin' if it is as strong as 3/4" MDF ported box.
I just checked Home Depot about pexiglass and they don't have 1/2" thick pexiglass.
Where can i find thicker pexiglass??
Would a full ported pexiglass box be as heavy as a 3/4" MDF ported box.
