Planet Audio Amps?

Postby sleepin2000 » Mon Jan 17, 2005 5:37 pm

I just recently bought a new sub (OZ Audio Matrix Elite Series 15") and now I need to find myself a bigger amp. I was thinking about a Planet Audio amp, has anyone had any expereinces with these or any suggestions on other brands?

Make sure you get a mono channel amp if there is only one sub. ive had good experiences with kenwood, fosgate, eclipse, pioneer, mtx. If they are wired right and have enough juice to run them (without draining the battery and burning out the alternator), then you should have no problem with any good rated amp you decide to go with.

hope this helps

Is the sub dual 2 ohm or dual 4 ohm? What is your budget? Are you going ported or sealed enclosure?

It has dual four ohm voice coils and it will be in a sealed box. As far as the budget goes, I don't really have a price range I'm looking at. I don't mind spending money if I feel it's worth it (quality, performance, etc...)

he doesn't have to get a mono channel amp, bad advice
class a/b 2 channel amps bridged can also provide better sq than a mono class d amp

Agreed a class ab will give you better SQ.

Some good amps- DLS A6
Arc Audio 1500xxk
U.S.Amps usa-600

More affordable amps that will get the job done, just not as nicely as the above mentioned.
MTX 801.D
Hifonics brutus 1000D
JBLGTO601.1

The elemental designs nine.1 is an awesome amp too for only 350.00 shipped, 3 year warranty.

The OZ audio web site says the sub will take 700 watts rms, do you know if it can take more or not. Im sure it can, just getta keep the gains down on some of those amps listed.
