Depends on the head unit. I know some receivers will recognize .wav files with CD-Rs; not sure about the DVD units, though.

If I could ask, why .wav? You'd get a lot more sound time with .mp3 files.

yes but .wav files are sonically more appealing to the ear, unfortuantly MP3 files are flat they dont see harmonic overtones to the music, WAV files and WMA do however. I see the Mole is trying to get a ridiculous amount of GOOD sounding music on a disc, rather than get a ton of poor quality music on a disc (i.e. MP3)

and too my knowledge, there are very few players that have this ability, im in the 90% that the kenwwod kvt-911 and 915 will both do it. Fact is they are one of the only players that do SV CD too. I know that Rave Boi was asking me about the eclipse 2 din unit, i still need to work on that one. If you have any players in particular that you want to find out about, let me know, im sure i can find out.

its not that...

i already have a pioneer avh-something... that plays dvds.

however it does not support playing MP3.

so i was just wondering if one can burn music (wav) files onto a dvd and pop it into the HU and let it play.

some dvd players can read wav files like a normal cd... it may work but that was on a home dvd player... not a mobile dvd player
