actually both of the amps EACh require a 80 amp fuse so togethor they would need a 150amp fuse at the main power line i suppose..... but im not sure if thats how much current they draw... it might be different from there fuse ratings....

Wow why such high amp fuses on those tiny amps? You can blow something like that you know? There should be internal fuses with in those amps. What are they rated at? 400Watts RMS you say. Ill take a guess and say 40-50.
My arc 2500 puts out over a 1000Watts rms and is a a/b amp yet it only has a 90amp fuse on it.

yes, they both have two 30amp internal fuses...... but they also require a 80amp fuse near the battery(for each amp). the mono amp is 400x1(rms) and the two channel is 100x2(rms)...... well, i sent an email to soundstream asking how much current(amps) these amps daw so maybe if i get an answer then i can finally figure out what gauge of wire i need....

Why will they each require an 80 amp fuse?

if they have 2 30amp internal fuses, that = 120amp fuse at the battery

either way, that still sounds like way too much

also, asking people about their setup with 2 amps is useless
it doesn't matter how many amps u have it's current draw

u should be find with a 4 guage power wire and then 8gauge going to each amp off a distro block

well in the online manual it says that they need a 80amp fuse near the battery...and thats for each amp....BUT i got the reply from soundstream regarding how much current these amps draw, and they told me 16.8 amps each......sounds little right?? so i should be able to run 4 and 8 gauge right??? but... i had sent another email asking what gauge wire i should be running and this is the reply i got:

HELLO; REGRADING YOUR QUESTION ABOUT POWER WIRE. THIS IS MY SUGGESTION, GO WITH 2ga POWER WIRE WITH AT LEAST A 150AMP CIRCUIT BREAKER TO A DIST. BLOCK , THEN 4ga POWER WIRES TO THE AMPS WITH 80AMP FUSES IN THE DIST. BLOCK. THANK YOU

anyone disagree with the soundstream guy?? opinions???

THANKS

There is no way you would need anything over a single 4awg wire going to the back of your car reguargless of the ammount/size of amps you have b/c our alternator doesn't put out enough power to warrant anything bigger than that. I have a BX1500d (1500wrms) and a 100wrms amp all powered off of a single 4awg. From our alt. and battery you can only draw a little over 100amps tops.
Nascar would be a sport if half the cars were driving the other direction.
