01 LED Brake Light Out

01 LED Brake Light Out

Postby Mkulina » Thu Dec 01, 2011 6:21 am

I have an '01 Solara and need a little help here. It has the LED third brake light in the spoiler and it's not working. I don't know if LED's operate just like a 12 volt bulb or if there is a ballast or separate fuse that may come into play here. The other brake lights work fine.

If someone can direct me to a sticky or tell me where to find a manual online, I would be very grateful. Not sure I was ready to step up to LED's yet, my previous car was a '92 and before that a '65. So this is new fangled technology for me.

Thanks in advance,

Mike

Try cleaning the connectors and pcu board with CRC electrical cleaner, but mostly likely its toast and a trip to the junk yard might be your only option.

^^^ Yeah that. I couldn't find a replacement anywhere online without buying a new rear wing
