Ben's fail mod

Ben's fail mod

Postby TRD_Sloara » Sat Sep 10, 2011 1:41 pm

So it's Saturday afternoon, and I don't have much to do, so I decide to tackle the Jim's fuel line mod, and possibly walbro fuel pump if things go well. I go to take the fuel line into the bottom of the filter off, and the c*cksucker stripped on me. I even doused it in WD40 before going at it, but it was pretty rusted, as it looks like it has never been changed. Has anybody else run into this issue? What could I do to fix this issue? :bad-words:

If you're referring to the flats on the flare nut rounding off, use a small set of Vise-Grips (locking pliers). Be careful not to indent the flats too much with the jaws of the pliers. Chances are, you can use a wrench to tighten it because it will only have rounded turning counter-clockwise (when viewed from the bottom). Go buy yourself a 14mm (verify that on your car) flare nut wrench which is about 3/4 of a box wrench. Don't try to loosen a flare nut with just an open-end wrench. You will round it off sooner or later.

Thank you. It is in fact 14mm (opposed to the 12mm mentioned in the archived tutorial). Will try this again tomorrow if I have time.
